Flower essence is medicine for the subtle body. It works with your energy field more than your physical body. Flower essences are made by taking purified water and doing Reiki on the water, then carrying that water with me into the forest and finding the flower I want to work with, sitting with her, praying and meditating, asking permission to harvest, and then taking flowers in multiples of 3. Typically I take either 6 or 9 flowers, uncover the jar of water, set it next to the plant, and directly transfer the 6 or 9 flowers onto the surface of the water essentially immediately. I let that sit in the sunlight and fresh air for a few minutes, then hike the jar back out, and the water infuses with the energy of the flowers for 10 days to 2 weeks. After that, I strain the flower essence, mix in a tiny bit of organic grain alcohol as a preservative, and that becomes your flower essence. That is how flower essences are made. The dosage is 2 drops because this is energy medicine more so than physiological medicine. This flower essence is made from pasqueflower, otherwise known as mountain crocus. This flower is so, so special to me, very close to my heart, and she is a very dear relative of mine. Pasqueflower is the first flower to emerge when the snow melts in the mountains here in the eastern foothills of the Rockies in Colorado, and she is a light purple lavender color, a very fuzzy flower shaped like a crocus you would recognize as a domestic crocus, with slightly more pointy petals, so a lavender colored, pointy, fuzzy crocus. You can see her growing from around 6,000 feet up to the highest elevations in the eastern Rockies, maybe around 11,000 feet or so. I live at 8700 feet of elevation, and she shows up in my yard in April as the snow is melting. The joy, delight, and relief of seeing the first flowers emerging after the long cold winter is such a moving experience, and that experience tells us about the energy medicine of pasqueflower. She is medicine for relief, grief, pain, tension, stress, and panic. She supports us in all of these things, and in this day and age with the modern world we live in, she is a very needed medicine. Very few medicines are as needed as this one. I take 2 drops most days, especially in the winter and spring, or whenever I am feeling anxious, panicky, afraid, grieving, or tense. This flower essence also has rose quartz bits in the bottle. Rose quartz is medicine for tender hearts, so these two allies go together really well in one bottle, and the flower and gem essence comes in a 0.5 oz amber glass dropper bottle.
